In 2017, and in cooperation with the Atanas Chengelev Professional High School of Food Technology in Peshtera, Biovet introduced the dual form of training with a focus on Technology in Bio-production. The program is aimed at students from grade 8 - 12 who get the unique opportunity to experience a real work environment and acquire practical skills. The heads of the Biovet laboratories and production units together with the teachers talk about the plant and show the students the intricacies of the professions which are mastered gradually over many years.
All students in grade 11 take part in professional career development with practical training in a real work environment. Biovet can adapt the workplace to the interests and skills of each student. Together with a mentor, each student is guided through their work and supported through the more challenging moments. All teachers attend a special training course before they start working with students.
Biovet's mission to create and train young talent is not limited to the city of Peshtera. In cooperation with teachers from the Professional High School of Chemical and Food Technologies in Pazardzhik, Biovet has created a dual form of training focussing on Technology of Pharmaceuticals and Perfumery - Cosmetic Products.
In 2023, Biovet launched a program to introduce and acquaint all interested pupils and students with the history, activity and production capabilities of Biovet. Members of the Biovet team travel across the country to visit schools and universities with profiled specialities in the fields of biology and chemistry. During these visits, a presentation about the company is given and there is time to answer questions from students. The factory opens its doors to any school or university that wishes to visit.
Biovet also offers internships for students in various production and structural units of the plant. The company works in close cooperation with the biotechnology departments of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", the University of Food Technology in Plovdiv and the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy in Sofia. All internships are paid and last between two and three months, depending on the interns' choice. During the internship program, students are introduced to the career paths for each professional field.
Biovet offers free accommodation to students in the hostel in the town of Peshtera, and provides free food during the working day. After successfully completing an internship, those wishing to continue their professional development at Biovet can apply for a job with the company.
