In-house Manufacturing Capabilities
At Huvepharma®, our key strengths lie in our fermentation and technical expertise developed over more than half a century at our European manufacturing sites.
Huvepharma®’s group of companies has three manufacturing facilities and two blending sites in Europe, plus another five mixing and blending sites in the USA.
Following the 2019 completion of our new fermentation plant in Peshtera, Bulgaria, we now have a total fermentation capacity of over 10000 m3, one of the largest fermentation capacities of any company in the world. In addition, we have a total chemical synthesis capacity of over 700 m3.
We have in-house capabilities for every step in the production process, starting with strain identification, selection and purification and finishing with the delivery of finished products to our global customers. Our downstream production facilities include:

We have in-house capability for producing:
- Technical grade products
- Feed additives
- Finished pharmaceutical goods
- Active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs)

Huvepharma® has built co-generation plants to ensure supply of energy and steam. In compliance with European guidelines, modern wastewater treatment plants and a number of exhaust air filtration installations have been integrated into Huvepharma® production sites. Waste biomass and materials incinerator plants have been installed in our production facilities in Peshtera and Razgrad to utilize the waste biomass and materials from our production processes to generate energy.
In addition, significant investments have been made and are ongoing into using packaging with lower shipping and disposable residue footprints.
