During a health monitoring session on farm, it is very important to correctly interpret the obtained values. To further help poultry producers with this evaluation, we have introduced the expected values in Aviapp.
The expected value is the average coccidiosis score at a certain age of the birds, month of the year, and country. This data is presented visually in Aviapp, showing the evaluation of the coccidiosis pressure in your flock against the expected value (long-term average). An example of this visualisation is given in Figure 1.
As shown in Figure 1, all Eimeria species have their own evolution as a function of age (green line). The black dot indicates the average score of the flock you are evaluating. If your score (black dot) is above the green line, then your flock has a higher coccidiosis score than the expected value (long-term average) for flocks scored in the same country, at the same age and during the same period of the year.
With the addition of expected values to the Aviapp platform, we can now offer Aviapp users extra feedback and insights which can be used instantly to improve the performance of their flock.
Please note that expected values are only visible for users who have agreed to share their data anonymously with the Aviapp platform (the benchmarking option).
