Position summary
The Business Process Analyst is responsible for documenting, analyzing, and maintaining the organization's business processes. This role works closely with business stakeholders, process owners, and IT teams to ensure processes are accurately captured, continuously improved, and aligned with organizational goals. The analyst will support process standardization, transparency, and optimization across departments.
Key responsibilities
- Document end-to-end business processes using standardized methodologies and tools (e.g., BPMN diagrams, process maps, SOPs).
- Collaborate with process owners and subject matter experts to gather requirements and validate process flows.
- Maintain the business process repository and ensure documentation is accurate, up to date, and easy to access.
- Analyze current processes to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
- Support process optimization initiatives and provide recommendations based on best practices.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and process mapping sessions with stakeholders.
- Ensure process changes follow organizational governance, approval, and version control standards.
- Assist with change management activities related to process updates, including communication, training, and impact analysis.
- Work closely with IT to ensure that processes align with system functionality and support digital transformation initiatives.
- Monitor process performance and compliance with established standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in business process analysis, process documentation, or similar roles.
- Strong understanding of process modeling methodologies (BPMN preferred).
- Experience with process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, Signavio, ARIS).
- Ability to analyze complex workflows and translate them into clear, structured documentation.
- Perform basic data analysis and interpret trends to support process improvement initiatives; use simple querying and data modeling techniques to validate business requirements and ensure data accuracy.
- Excellent knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Detail-orientated, organized, and able to manage multiple processes simultaneously.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365) is an asset.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills. Very good knowledge of English.
Preferred skills
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
- Experience of developing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Understanding of business architecture frameworks.
- Project management.
