OptiPhos - The Advanced Phytase

27.03.2012 | New registrations

We are glad to announce that the New Generation of E.Coli Phytase has arrived in Europe!
The E.Coli 6-Phytase, OptiPhos®, which is to be used in pigs and poultry, has received approval for use in the European Union and Huvepharma® has completed successfully its registration process. OptiPhos®, produced by a genetically modified strain of the yeast species Pichia pastoris, is classified as "zootechnical additive" and falls into the functional group of digestibility enhancers. The product is intended for use as feed additive in chickens and turkeys for fattening, chickens reared for laying, turkeys reared for breeding, laying hens, other birds for fattening and laying, weaned piglets, pigs for fattening and sows. OptiPhos® is offered on the market in different forms for pelleted and not pelleted feed and even comes as liquid: 2500 CT, 2500 G, 2500 L, 5000 CT, 5000 G, 5000 L (granular, coated and liquid).
OptiPhos® differs from other known phytases as being a product of new generation. OptiPhos® releases more phosphorus from vegetable raw materials than other phytases currently present in the market. This leads to lower inclusion of monocalcium phosphate (MCP) or dicalcium phosphate (DCP) in the diet of animals. Because of its fast mode of action, and because it is an E. coli 6-phytase, OptiPhos® also releases other nutrients than only phosphorus. By replacing MCP or DCP and savings on other nutrients, OptiPhos® makes it possible to formulate feeds at a lower cost, without compromising technical results.  OptiPhos® is absolutely safe for human and animal health, as stated by the European Food Safety Authority. As an additional benefit OptiPhos®, also has a positive effect on the environment, as the use of OptiPhos® will lower the output of phosphorus via the litter.
